Shweta Jaishankar & Mahesh Bhupathi The Pair Have Now Six Years Old Separated

Monday, September 20, 2010

Mahesh Bhupathi got divorced to his first wife in July, 2010 difference over opinions; however it seems his ex-wife has not forgotten him and blaimed Lara Dutta for their ruined marriage. Shweta also accused Bhupathi of cheating her and dating Lara while married to her. With his young and gorgeous wife in Hyderabad, it is no surprise that tennis ace Mahesh Bhupati is spotted more often in the city. "Mahesh does come down quite often. In fact, he was here just yesterday," says Shweta. "But Mahesh is so lost when he is here, since I am always busy with my classes and he just hangs around at home," laughs the celebrity wife.

Bhupathi who is in Chennai for a Davis Cup playoff tie against Brazil updated his twiiter page with the message, "So, Lara Dutta and me got engaged in NY last week. It's official now," Lara dutta also confirmed the news while speaking to a publication and also mentioned that Mahesh proposed to her during the recent US open and it took her completely by surprise. Bhupathi proposed her in NY during a candle-lit-dinner and also gifted a ring.Dressed casually, she'd strike you as any ordinary college student. Except that she is quite extraordinary. A state level tennis player, a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, a model, recently married to Mahesh Bhupati and now an MBA student at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Shweta Jaishankar holds a unique portfolio indeed.

I will not be going back to modelling now," says Shweta. "It was a profession hard to give up,' she says, sounding only a tad rueful. "It's an easy life, easy money, lots of glamour – but an MBA was always on my mind. Especially since I come from a business background with both my parents being into business," says the Chennai girl who made it big nationally. But of course it is not enough to have a business background alone to get into Indian School of Business. You've got to be pretty smart too, which evidently Shweta is. "Yeah, I used to do pretty well in school," she admits modestly, "But I am also a rather adventurous person. Which is why despite coming from an academic background, I decided to go for modelling. I wanted to see what it's like to be a part of that industry.

I wanted to see what it's like to be a part of that industry. And now that I have, I might just be able to combine what I have learnt here and there and do something interesting once I am out," she says. But before she does that, she will be putting her business acumen to good use in another venture. "Mahesh and I began a sports management company last year.
